Ingredients:
Ground Beef 1 Lb
Onions (Cut in Julienne) 2 Lb
Salt to Taste
Optional: Hard Boiled Eggs, Green Olives
Dough:
Flour 1 Lb
Water 2 cups
Sunflower Oil 1/2 cup
Method:
In a pot, cook the onions. After removing the extra water (released by the onions) add the meat.
Season the mix with Heritage Blend, add salt, and let the empanada filling rest and cool down in the fridge.
Make the dough by mixing all the ingredients in a bowl. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven at 420*F.
Then roll the dough into a rectangle, about 3mm in thickness. Cut circles of 5 to 7 cm with a cutter or a cup.
Place the empanada filling in the middle of the circle. Add a slice of hard boiled egg and a few small slices of green olive, if desired. Then, close the circle and wrap the edges to seal the empanada.
Place the empanadas on a sheet pan and Bake them at 420*f for 15 to 20 minutes.
